The soles of my feet merge (2024)
A drawing performance connecting the body to the ground.

During the group exhibition Speaking Soil I explored how meditation and movement exercises could deepen my connection to the ground beneath me. Over the course of three days, I responded to architecture of the exhibition space by creating a floor drawing with charcoal and chalk. This intuitive and slow approach acted as a counterbalance to the immediacy and efficiency often demanded by capitalist society.

With no preconceived plan, I allowed the drawing to grow slowly, capturing a visual record of the exchange between the space and the visitors. The performance invited the audience to slow down, to pause, and be aware of the ground that carries us.
